This elegant and timeless Monarch Butterfly Raku Ceramic Cremation Urn is hand thrown in the traditional Raku ceramics process. Raku is an ancient Japanese firing process used in the production of stoneware, and with the beautiful glaze finish and your choice of color-scheme, this monarch butterfly ceramic urn will present a beautiful memorial in honor of your loved one.
In Raku, each ceramic urn is taken from the kiln red hot with the molten glaze silken and glowing. Then it is placed in a bed of straw or leaves in an air-tight reduction chamber. The dry plant material immediately bursts into flame as the Raku chamber is sealed. The flame and the smoking, oxygen-starved atmosphere transform the glaze surface to create the unique - and seemingly ancient - colors and textures of Raku. Thus, each of our one-of-a-kind Raku-fired funeral urns unique in the particulars of the design and glaze finish.
As Monarch Butterfly Raku Ceramic Cremation Urn is generally made-to-order, please allow up to 15 business days for your memorial urn to be made and shipped. Often, we can finish and deliver sooner, but if you need the urn by a specific date please contact us and we will make the necessary arrangements. These are handmade urns, and as such shape and colors of each urn will vary.
Notes
**Colors and finish vary considerably.** While the shape of the urn and the butterfly design will be the same, the coloration and finish patterns on the urn's surface will be unique to each piece.
