Each Blackberry Raku Ceramic Cremation Urn is uniquely designed and handcrafted by a ceramic artist in the USA, using real blackberry leaves and berries. Our ceramic artist individually produces each urn by hand, which is impressed with actual blackberries and leaves, then covered with a crackle glaze and then Raku fired, resulting in a natural-looking and earthy cremation urn for your loved one.
In Raku firing each cremation urn is taken from the kiln red hot, the molten glaze silken and glowing. Then it is placed in a bed of straw or leaves in an air-tight container. The dry plant material immediately bursts into flame and the “reduction chamber” is sealed. The flame and the smoking, oxygen starved atmosphere transform the glaze surface creating the unique, seemingly ancient, colors and textures of raku. Thus, each of our one-of-a-kind Raku-fired funeral urns are unique in the particulars of the design and glaze finish.
As these ceramic urns are generally made-to-order, please allow up to 3-6 weeks for your urn to be shipped. Often, we can finish and deliver sooner, but if you need the urn by a specific date please contact Lovedonesurns for assistance.
